Solar Photovoltaic's (Solar PV)

  • Solar PV relies on daylight, not sunlight.  Solar PV generates electricity by capturing the daylight energy of the sun in electrical (DC) form.  This is then relayed through a series of isolators and inverters to feed directly back into the national grid.  This enables carbon free electricity, generated by the sun, to replace electricity generated by fossil fuels. Ideally it is located on south facing roofs and there is a multitude of mounting systems available to achieve the correct results.
 
 
 
  • For every kilowatt hour generated by this method, 568 grams of C02 emissions are saved in the UK.  (Please refer to detailed site calculations for accurate data).

  • To put this into perspective, an average household in the UK uses between 3000 and 5000 kWh hours per anum.  This produces a carbon footprint of between 1.7 tonnes to 2.84 tonnes of carbon emitted into the atmosphere.  Imagine what commercial buildings emit!
